Looks interesting. I'm finding that using dbt and the automatically generated docs helps with quite a lot of this. There are other sources of metadata though, so I can see why some might want a tool like this.

Apologies, I think the question was edited/clarified after my comment. Gems are more similar to Python sdist’s. Native code is compiled on the installing host. There is no specification like manylinux1,2010,2014 like there are for Pyth

Agree. I don't think the Wheel specification was intended to replace application distribution. It is aimed at the distribution of individual Python libraries.
