Well, we never can hide our roots ;-) Logback has been developed by the same guy who wrote log4j 1.x. He left and log4j 1 was not maintained a long time. But before a good while a few others have teamed up to bring the project back to life.

You are right, this was just a shared hosting package from 1&1. Nothing I have root access to. Nothing I can do. I thought it was clear when I wrote the provider shut me out from my webspace.
