I'm using xterm with Solarized and it works pretty well. gvim is indistinguishable from vim in a terminal. I haven't observed any broken apps.

I do. What I like about it is the ability to use j, k (just like in Vim!) to navigate and that results are displayed on a single page. English searches are good enough to replace Google (at least for me), but I still use Google for other la

I think that non-wage labour costs can be an important factor. I think they are quite high across Europe. Could anyone tell the numbers for Italy? (for example: in Poland a net wage of 2700 PLN (~ $1000) is a gross wage of 4500 PLN (~ $1650

Your reaction to the risks you've mentioned looks like panic. Maximal possible damage doesn't matter. A meteorite hitting the Earth would definitely cause enormous damage but is very unlikely to happen. What matters is the expected value

Libertarianism is about liberty, not about optimising statistics like "the cost of climate change" (whatever that's supposed to mean). The climate will change. That's completely natural and I can't see a reason to stop it (honestly I think

My favourites would be: - anything written by Serre, - Shafarevich's Basic Algebraic Geometry , - Silverman's The Artihmetic of Elliptic Curves , - Milne's notes (available at http://jmilne.org ).

I find it extremely disgusting. There's nothing wrong with contacting others. Everyday I'm contacted by lots of people: colleagues, marketers, head hunters etc. They give me choice . Let members of the tribe enjoy the same freedoms. Stop t

Government accountability is a myth. Governments run into enormous debt, change pension systems, wage wars ... Where's the responsibility? Loosing elections isn't a serious consequence.

I still can't see a problem here. A business with a single customer exists in an almost complete vacuum and doesn't influence the market. What's more it's very risky as its revenues aren't diversified. It's completely dependent on its only
