That characterization seems imprecise. I believe some parts of Google's social strategy are growing organically (eg. Gmail, Hangouts). My understanding is that a big part of G+ was rebuilding their entire product backend around global

They didn't make a pixel perfect copy of Facebook. Instead they made their own thing, because vanity, ego, pride, etc. If they did that before 2007, we'd be talking about Facebook like it was MySpace right now.

With Google's warchest? Without a doubt. Google could run these guys over with their unsold inventory alone. Though I imagine that's probably used to prop up the CPAs of their big buyers. They could also snap their fingers and ad

Alphabet has too much money syndrome. It's a nice problem to have; they obviously don't have enough good stuff to invest in. Lyft/Uber have no special sauce. They have a quickly growing revenue stream with dubious profit pote

Total garbage. There will need to be some laws put in place soon to stop this type of thing by companies, otherwise we're going pure Gattaca. The nearest term risk for AI making your life suck is basically encoding people's biases

I hope Detroit gets it. Metro Detroit would be just perfect for it. It's on the East Coast. It has ridiculous transport infrastructure. There is a ton of cheap labor nearby. They can probably acquire an absolutely massive plot of land

This will probably slow down the ICOs. Smuggling money out of China is one of the main functions of crypto currencies these days. Edit: Bloomberg just reported Bitcoin has dropped 11% on the news, so far.

This won't be more user friendly than android. Google has invested a ton in ui r&d. They will have done very well if it doesn't crash frequently and you don't have to endure long waits to do stuff.
