What even is this mysterious device? A device trying to duplicate a part of smartphone/smartwatch functionality is doomed to fail, as those can easily just be an app on said devices. So the computation part is likely out of the questio

I never had that experience. Django does nothing special compared to the way I would design my db tables the completely manual way.

I don't know, it depends. I feel like I've gotten much better at reading code now that I read so much of it(generated). I don't mind it. As long as I'm not the first human filter, I'll review a colleagues AI generat

It looks great, but does it have a debugger? Stepping through loops and visualizing in real time how the variables change is indispensable for teaching how programming in general works.

What can you even do in the ms enterprise ecosystem with their copilot integration? Is it just for chatting? Is it a glorified RAG? Can you tell copilot co to create a presentation? Make a visualisation in a spreadsheet?

What kind of templating are we talking about? HTML or in general? If we take python, for example, you could use jinja for HTML and composition/inheritance for the general stuff. That's all django does, and it does it well. I don&#

Imagine if Cargo was not first-party, but a third-party tool belonging to a vc startup with zero revenue. Then that startup makes rustup, rustfmt and rust-analyzer. Great, but I would be more comfortable with the ecosystem if at least the r

I may be an unreasonable outlier, but I absolutely refuse to learn a complex config language. YAML/TOML? These are the maximum of punishment I'm willing to deal with, as they are quite universal and useful in many situations. If y

I don't think that the whole ecosystem should be dominated by a single VC backed startup. I want my tools to be interchangeable and to play well with other choices. Having multiple big players helps with that.

If this works very well and reliable, it might not kill programming as such, but it might put a lot of small businesses who do custom software for other small businesses out of work. The HN bubble might not realize the implications.
