GP is not in beta, the $1 is a promo. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass#join is clear I think. $5/mo is also temporary.

IMO required viewing for any dev to form a more informed opinion on the SSD tech. Cerny talks about it fairly practically. Starting point on SSD: https://youtu.be/ph8LyNIT9sg?t=310 for about 20 minutes

It was originally intended for the Game Developers Conference which was cancelled (postponed?). Sony didn't do the best job setting expectations ahead of time, but either way people were hungry for info. At the time, Sony had been fair

I think CodeArtifact loses value when you aren't using a package manager; the benefit is an api-compatible service with various controls and audits built on top. Out of curiosity, what would you want from this service for the "pla

No group is infallible. If I thought about a world where cloud providers didn't exist (AWS or otherwise), where every company had to build and maintain all of their infrastructure themselves, and had to make a guess, I'd wager the

Check out https://github.com/aws/amazon-ecs-cli-v2 There are some very motivated people working to make getting started and getting going with ECS easier. The CDK ( https://github.com/aws/aws-cdk )

I wonder what it would take to do something like this with kind[0] so you can have something resembling an actual multi-node cluster, if it's even possible. I've used kind successfully on WSL for experimenting locally, and even fo

Read through it. Do you have a sort of TL;DR summary of pros/cons? A matrix I can use to make a decision as a new k8s user.

Throttle speeds after you've reached a very high threshold, maybe only during peak hours to avoid unnecessary underutilization. Why is that not one of your options? This is what T-Mobile does AFAIK (I'm a subscriber but a light us

It's a mobile app that polls an endpoint for json, after the user configures it (seemingly with a QR code), that's all. There's no middle-man server, and it's also not push. Neat idea, low barrier to entry. Can't te

I wonder how much of a problem this is. Anecdotally: I've spent my entire career - about 5 years beyond university - working in a cloud-only environment. My dev machine is an ec2 instance, whose environment my company provisions approp

FWIW, there is tooling in place such that you can just recycle the hosts in your fleet and they'll be brought up with the latest image. so you can become just another scheduled and automated event. Don't quite follow the latter.
