One issue I see with so-called free software is the coming era of AI. The software might be as free as RMS would like, but we still would not be able to decipher what exactly it does.

Nobody should believe me, but I kind of expected something like this would happen. People just wants to keep using 2.7, and let the language evolve slowly over time, as is happening with PHP, for example. So if 2.7 development was officiall

That will never happen, and it would be also a wrong thing to do, as the example of python shows. One of the main strengths of PHP is a low barrier of entry, which also includes things like you google how to do something, and what you googl

I worked for a corporation for 12 years, and I was in a team developing software for CT scanner operations. What's wrong with that? Then I also worked for a very small company, where I coded... games. So according to the RMS, that coul

I once coded chess playing algorithm for fun, and can confirm that the recruiter was correct on #9: you count bits by using a lookup table and then sum the results. It's the quickest way. But I am not sure if this is possible to figure

Free speech must be protected, and it is certainly legal to tell a joke about non-identified disabled child. But he was targeting one specific kid, so I am not sure if he didn't infringe upon his human rights. Maybe he really did.
