There were similar complaints when this was posted on /r/linux[1]. The only change that seems to have been made since then was in fixing his completely wrong description of the history of Linux. [1] http://www.reddit.co

But doing that will require the obscene political step of a vote of no confidence, a recall election, and a complete reform of campaign finance laws.... for which we need the help of politicians.

I really wish people would call for a vote of no confidence and remove everyone who appears uncooperative. Bonus points: Clean slate.

I rather thought Al Quaeda was the Bayer of aspirin. There are a lot of incompetent and not-really-a-credible-threat terrorist groups with ideologies similar to that of Al Quaeda, including them. A sort of brand recognition for something th

I think the idea is to make MitM snooping more difficult, not necessarily data collection by a third-party. I agree, though, it is kind of silly, knowing that Google has been complying with large numbers of FISA requests.

I don't think it's viewed as a plausible idea by very many. It seems Feynman only mentioned it in passing, so I doubt he held it in much regard. It's an interesting hypothesis, but without a testable and falsifiable theory, i

How "offputting" the field is to women is not, IMO, as problematic as the fact that many girls are discouraged in school, by their teachers from pursuing math or science fields, simply because they're girls. This is an ende
