You can definitely find this for a bit < $200, its just kind of hard to find a trustworthy brand (maybe you know of one)? I think these may be reasonable markups to actually run a business with a finished safe product, to pay employees,

You can buy a 1000W inverter for < $100 and use that with a normal car. [1] A true sine wave inverter is more than double that. Presumably this is very inefficient, but a lot of power needs can be satisfied by running it for shorter peri

It is ironic that this blog post is published just a little after a preprint was posted making a case that the D614G mutation has biologically significant differences. There is an explanation of the paper here: https://chrismaste

It doesn't seem you have read my comments or the paper I cited which has a map. There are 2 labs. The one everyone is accusing is 10km away. The lab that is most likely to have caused the outbreak is a block away.

I agree that this outbreak was expected, but I don't think it was expected to occur a block away from a lab that studies bats. These labs obtained bats from hundreds of miles away. Those areas (with huge bat populations) seem like more

I disagree with this point of view. It only encourages covering things up. The US frequently has it's own lab incidents including even with anthrax (this was reported in some of the Newsweek articles). There's no indication of car

What's missing in this article but well reported on in Newsweek [1] is that these studies included "gain of function" research, which means attempts to make viruses human transmissible. This type of research is extremely dang

This is a false dichotomy. Professional contact tracers must be in charge. Contact tracing apps help them do their job more effectively. His arguments also seem to assume that testing will remain scarce. But testing capacity keeps increasin

This is a very weak study because it is retrospective: they just looked at existing medical records. And they only found 20 COVID patients that had vitamin D levels recorded. But the finding is compelling enough that we should demand better

The nicotine explanation in the article discussion isn't actually studied, it is just pure speculation (which is fine, mine is as well). But there's no explanation why there's fewer smokers even though smokers have more ACE2

It would make sense if smoking (the oxidants from smoke) kills the virus. However, once the infection actually progresses it is clear that smokers are worse off. https://chrismasterjohnphd.com/covid-19/covid-19-and-the-

There are some questions here about filtering effectiveness of surgical masks. Here is one study showing 96% filtration of aerosolized bacteria although unfortunately it does not compare against an n95. Figure: https://www.resear

Yes. Pulumi supports using existing yaml and helm templates (we aren't really using this yet), so I think it's support is better. But it may have been more influenced by the thought of having to deal with k8s boilerplate configura

We build images in CI and reference that in Pulumi. Not sure what your question is, we use this to deploy an infrastructure environment that includes k8s.

As a first impression it is more user friendly. The support for working with secrets is nice, but on the other hand it doesn't come free with locking support. We need more time to evaluate the stability.

We switched to Pulumi from terraform for a new project because we can use it for both cloud infrastructure and for k8s configuration. It is easy enough to just apply k8s configuration files you have, but it is harder to delete the k8s resou
