You need to have pretty tight supply chains if you’re going to support warranty claims on something as consumable as disks. I don’t know who supplies their HDD and SSDs, but you’d want the relationship and traceability to be pretty robust.

That seems like a lot of effort - is there no ability to boot a custom thumb drive that loads something like an SSH terminal, or dummy display for VNC?

Companies tried to block Apple’s Hide My Email in the months after its release, but I haven’t been blocked in years now. I’m assuming they quickly realised that it was here the stay.

What a dumpster fire. Is he really being paid per download, or is he just being sponsored? It’s not clear if either would imply some form of malicious intent either.

They almost wilfully neglected to state that users can buy extended support at $50 per seat. That was recently waived for private EU users, and I’m half expecting them to expand it more broadly.

I disagree. If there is a fundamental architectural issue with the current platform that is getting in the way of progress, the right thing to do is to fix it. By ‘progress’ I mean compatibility with new innovations like DirectX or some new

Pi’s are a pain when it comes to power, storage and expansion. They’re hardly competitive on price compared to an old nuc too. Even a new N100 with ram and ssd can be purchased heaper than a barebones Pi 5.
