This is already in place for IOT networks like Thread, but it’s only practical at very low bandwidth and where the routing devices are connected to a power source. I, for one, would not appreciate someone burning through my battery to strea

The topic of development culture and processes in highly technical industries is fascinating to me. The Intel and Samsung drama is great. HA seems to be the only place where it crops up - is there a decent subreddit or other forum with furt

‘Nation state’ is the appropriate term of art in the context of cyber security. The fact that a domestic service appears to be attacking an area that is seeking autonomy makes it more relevant.

One man’s progress is another’s literary imperialism. As a British-English speaker, I refuse to call my quaint pathway ‘a sidewalk’. I won’t ever refer to ‘sticky tape’ as ‘adhesive tape’ - or ‘scotch tape’ for that matter.

We had to use ‘heritage tape’ for old parquetry floors. I don’t know how much it cost, but it was enough for the company to pay us the additional 15 minutes to roll it back up neatly on the roll. Not a terrible way to make a few extra dolla

In the ACT at least, years 11 and 12 are called ‘college’, and the NT, years 10, 11 and 12 are ‘senior secondary’. It’s confusing, but each state has their reasons.

I personally wouldn’t go to the extent of using CLI tools, as my next of kins and family members aren’t at all technical. A printout of my 1Password emergency kit in a safe deposit box is probably doable, but then what - 598 passwords to pr

Back in my service desk days, we were encouraged to write and revisit SOPs in our downtime as it is and excellent way to pick up how things work, and how to write in a style that everyone is on board with. The most effective part of that sy

I won’t get drawn in to free speech / whatever argument. The tool offers a cheap shortcut to a positive health outcome. The alternatives could be medication, or a guided practice - both of which require financial and time commitments.

Both PBS and ABC are independent of the ‘state’ though. They’re public broadcasters funded by public funds, which are administered by a federal agency (Dep of Industry in Australia).
