If you’re just running a bare metal hypervisor then you may as well just go for a second hand tiny form factor platform. No point paying 15-20% extra for the same specs in a svelte case if you’re not running native macOS.

I use a short usb extender to get around this issue with my Bolt receiver, but the regular Unifying ones tend to be fine.

TBH, it just makes good business sense to tie people into the Unifying and Bolt ecosystems, which makes me think they’ve hit a technical or patent snag somewhere.

They can manoeuvre uneven terrain in areas where UAVs and wheeled UGVs are unsuitable though. Combined with UAV capabilities, it could be a very capable mapping or ISR tool in places like caves, or following earthquakes. The ‘hopping’ type

Not mentioned are the magnetic charging connectors. I’ve found them useful for charging small appliances, like usb-c remotes and peripherals, and a micro-usb radio. Word of warning: most of these are charge only, but a few do support data t

Why not just use a compact multi-port usb-c dock? Much harder to misplace, and you can put a ‘stolen from $user’ sticker on it.

The telemetry aspect is easily resolved by any enterprise that cares enough about it. The conclusion that this is more to do with the overall architecture and deployment of the existing driver is much more plausible.

Markdown isn’t immune to deprecation in the Obsidian ecosystem - I have files with random junk in the headers leftover from failed attempts to integrate some data management plugin or regime.

It’s not outside the realms of possibility that the invention of fermented meats (which includes salami and other similar sausages) arose when humans decided to eat the intestines of hunted beasts, possibly well after they ate the more desi

Shortcuts app has just enough support to manage reminders, but automation triggers are fairly limited.

Interesting. I’ve found ReminderCal’s approach to synching with the Calendar pretty novel and foolproof (basically use an action in Shortcuts to sync it it across when you close Reminders), and I’d be interested to know how your works. That

Vegemite or bust. I once uncovered a ten year old jar of Vegemite (90’s era). It was absolutely amazing. I’m not sure if it matured over time, or if they changed the recipe.

Tbh, Ubuntu’s only pull is the support and breadth of users. As a desktop, it’s let down by Unity, which IMHO is basically a port of Windows 8 tablet UI. If they defaulted back to a menu and taskbar-based WM, it might actually be more appro

The USB licensing dongles used in Cubase [1] were clunky and annoying, but were pretty effective. A lot easier to manage than Flex-LM, assuming you weren't roaming around too much. [1] https://www.steinberg.net/elicense

Elvis’ manager did this with ‘I hate elvis badges’. It’s not quite comparable though - this is deliberately deceiving a market into acquiring a service they didn’t need, which is basically racketeering.
