Any company that states that an employee left "in bad standing" either has an idiot for counsel, or poor HR practices. Providing any information other than employment dates opens you up for lawsuits.

Perhaps your assumption that all "mid level developers" make FAANG income is a bit inaccurate? There are tens of thousands of developers across the US not making big bucks. And to be in the 1%, you need to be making north of $800K

I didn't notice a closing sarcasm tag, so I'm assuming you're serious about your "fun" being infringed upon. Too bad. You have no right to drive intoxicated on public streets. Nor to drive at speeds over the posted

Lower salaries really are just paying employees to look for new jobs on the company's dime. If my pay was lowered 10%, I'd be looking immediately. At one of the companies I worked at, the strategy was the opposite. Lower employee

Avatar grossed roughly $3.8B worldwide Avatar 2 has grossed roughly $2B worldwide. None of these figures matter a damn. Gross figures aren't profit. And you need to adjust for inflation. Avatar 2 doesn't even show up in the top 25

IMAX is just too rare for most moviegoers. I'd have to drive 5 hours to watch a movie on IMAX, and thought I'd have loved to see Avatar 2 on it, it's just not worth it for most people.

I made my desk out of a thick walnut slab, and it turned out great. On the woodworking FB group, people said I could sell it easily on Etsy etc for over $2K. So I looked into it. My COG was about $1k, and Etsy would take 20% of the $2K sell

That's simply counter to how $BIGCOs work. Just look at infosec for a big corporation. There's no incentive on their part to minimize cost or disruption with strict security policies and audits. The people who feel the pain are th

I work in the insurance biz and we generally don't want to be nimble and follow best practices. That sounds crazy right? Well, best practices change over time, and fads (at least in IT if not all types of mgmt.) are far too common. Our

I walked to school for Kindergarten and 1st grade. Roughly a mile each way. This was in the early 70s, and though I see some kids walk to the nearby elementary school, the majority are dropped off by their parents in their huge SUVs...

If the user is having trouble migrating off Apple's hosting, they'd still have trouble migrating to a different host. Uploading hundreds of episodes and all the corresponding tagging/metadata is a pain no matter what.

So you think Apple should host podcasts for free out of the goodness of their heart? Apple's a business, not a charity/non-profit. Podcast hosting for $20/year is a huge bargain. Libsyn's cheapest plan is $5/month w

I remember going to the hardware store when I was 8 to buy my dad a pouch of pipe tobacco. It was on a rack right next to the register, where today we see candy. The clerk didn't even think twice about me purchasing it.
