I would be careful conflating the fate of the Moskva with the ability of the USN to survive an ASCM attack. The USN has been working on this particular issue since the 1960s. And the Moskva was an old, poorly maintained and poorly operated

Energy abundance doesn't mean at a loss. It just means that excess energy that would go to waste can be used very cheaply, for all sorts of stuff that never would have been able to be accomplished before. Take CO2 extraction. It really

Nice terminology about the cars.../s And pot is legal in Oregon, so why would the smell be probable cause? Besides, cops invent PC on a routine basis.

By "Copaganda", I was referring to shows like COPS that only shows the dramatic moments, the YT channels that glorify police work, not the boring traffic stops, or the paperwork officers have to deal with. My dislike of this cover

So Target claiming their closing stores across the nation due to their lies about shoplifting etc doesn't connect in your mind to this? https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/26/business/target-retail-theft-...

Guess where little State Prosecutors grow up? Working cases at the municipal level until they move to the minor leagues. Federal prosecutors work up the same route, so all the institutional bias and privilege is instilled early. How many At

Explain then why so many cops fail to understand (or follow) the law? They have a scant understanding of constitutional rights (and usually choose to ignore them when they can get away with it). And surveillance? Give me a break. At my job,

You get to see the videos the police want you to see; the videos that reinforce the idea that cops are in a continual state of absolute danger despite all the occupational studies that show it's a relatively safe job. Copaganda...

In both shootings, the officers didn't follow standard procedure (let the ESU take over the situation), and instead went all Rambo on the victims. Then failed to render aid after they pumped dozens of rounds into each victim. Or they l

You do realize that this has been shown to be absolutely false? That losses due to shoplifting were used as BS justifications to shut down stores? https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/06/business/walgreens-sho

It's not just the average jury, but prosecutors, judges, mayors, city councils. Police get a pass for so much misconduct on an individual and institutional level it boggles the mind.

Yes, because pogroms have solely been targeted against practicing Jews. There are a ton of Jews who don't follow kosher law, who aren't particularly religious, etc etc. Yet they would be targeted by anti-semites.

1. Isaacson's Musk biography was so poorly written and fawning I couldn't finish it. I take nothing in it as fact, mostly PR and hagiography. 2. Musk has had lots of plans. Plans that he dumps the minute he changes his mind.

Catapults have almost always been used to minimize takeoff space, or eliminate it entirely (drone launches). The tradeoffs in using a catapult are stress on the airframe, heavier planes due to hardening the airframe to mitigate this stress,

The amount of fuel needed to become airborne is a fraction of the amount of fuel needed to achieve cruising altitude. So using a catapult would only save a puny amount of fuel, as well as add risk to takeoffs. Plus, if you actually watch a
