I have read a few blogs about the subject but not to my knowledge on HN. Might be an interesting Ask HN thread.

There is a good bit of research in the medical field. Eg here's a meta study https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33128662/ I found this bit of the abstract interesting: > However, most studies lacked well-defined

I think whats happening is that displays/devices are increasing in resolution but some websites specify tiny font sizes which don't scale. Not a web developer so I could be wrong. Hacker news is actually an example of this. I usua

The mockup at the top of the article would be useful. Any chance you could share a higher res or svg?

This has happened. F1000 is an example. A big issue is funding bodies/grant reviewers are mostly old guard who are happy with the status quo. Recently, a big journal was changing in a way that upset a large swath of such people. Unfort

Agreed. I think the 'year of the Linux desktop' is more personal journey (as cliche as that sounds). Some folks never switch but for those that do, it's their year to experience linux. When was year of the Linux for you? Mine

Our two closest relatives are the chimpanzee and Bonobo. The Bonobo is far more interesting. They have a dynamic society, where sometimes it's matriarchal or more balanced. The wiki article is a fascinating read: > Although a male b

Very cool. Why are you using a neon purple theme for the plots and your web page ? I ask because that color scheme seems to be popping up everywhere.

As an end user who has requested subscription licenses from my employer, this is also my experience. They are very very reluctant to purchase subscriptions, even if it's year to year cancel any time.

No it's not. Another black box for companies to hide behind. One of the best moderation bots out there uses a baysian approach to predict malicious changes to wiki edits.

I agree you still have to contort your hand but it is significantly less movement than using your pinky. IMO you should remap your keys: https://karabiner-elements.pqrs.org/ Every system will not be 100% to your liking, so

I find the opposite. Use your thumb for the command key not your pinky finger. My frustration is the function (fn) key placement. Just terrible.

I've started writing detailed pull requests which detail all the changes. You can squash commits and their messages into one merge, which could achieve the same result. But I find creating a branch per feature is really great way to wo

I shouldn't be surprised but the amount of posters heavily pushing for ads or gambling (loot boxes) is disgusting and horrifying. Not everything needs to make money, especially for community projects.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to look deeper at scipipe :). It's good to hear you're going to continue developing it. What advantages does scipipe have over nextflow?
