Can’t you just install systemd in a Docker container? Can you expand on your comment? I’m interested in what you mean by it.

We removed Symbola from the official Arch repositories because of these license changes. Namely these (paraphrased) snippets: 1) The developer retains all rights to previous, current and future versions of UFAS. 2) Users are prohibited from

Arch packager here, looks like this can't realistically be packaged due to a dependency (runv[0]) being deprecated at it's upstream source. A lot of these container runtimes are needlessly complicated and not very enjoyable to pac

Calling docker battle tested is an extremely long stretch. It has several security issues[0], many of which are ignored by upstream as "working as intended". [0]: https://blog.newsblur.com/2021/06/28/

My ISP (My Republic; a Singaporean company operating in New Zealand) does not provide IPv6, and I’ve emailed with a request for IPv6. There’s no need for it, apparently.

I’m surprised medium is still used/allowed on HN. I can’t access the article because medium is requiring me to sign up to see it…

Doesn't this just move the point of strain from the end of the connector to the end of the spring? I could be mistaken.

How big is it? And what do you think would be reasonable sizes for the 32MB image (3675 x 5475) floating around?

Whereabouts does it say that it's deprecated? The GitHub link doesn't state anything. Do you know of any alternatives? EDIT: Nevermind, I skipped the picture-stamp thingies.

My Linode VPS was put on this RBL approximately 3 days ago. The VPS has been under my sole control for at least two years, after some investigation I came to the same conclusion as the article's author.

A few years ago, I tried using ansible to automate setup of PiHole. That did not go well because it's essentially a poorly coded hobby-level project. I've since switched to BIND (named) & it's fantastic implementation of

> The difficulty in fencing such extremely rare items must be immense. It's probably similar to other underworld industries, steal-to-order is definitely more common than what people expect.

If anyone's ever in Stockholm, I strongly recommend visiting the Vasamuseet[0]. It's amazing how much of the ship is actually intact, and I love how you can interact with it. [0]: https://www.vasamuseet.se/

Any sysadmin worth their salt would’ve seen this coming from a mile off. My self hosted mail server only runs {smtp, imap}s, due to encryption being required from the get-go. Any other way seems foolish.

One of my computers has been aptly named 'THESEUS' due to what was replaced on it. By the time it was repaired to an acceptable level, the only original component remaining was the chassis.

LXC (and LXD, by extension) is packaged on Arch Linux as a binary, not a snap. I'm really grateful that the packagers worked with upstream to make this possible, as I heavily utilise LXC in my workspace.

90% of time on Reddit is spent via mobile app (iOS: Apollo, Android: Relay), and the remainder (desktop) is old.reddit.com. I can't stand the new interface, and the way that Reddit is heading is basically Digg 3.0.
