I love this story, and despite only being inside a snowcat twice I often browse for-sale listings and such, even though I have no practical use for one. They are just such neat vehicles.

Wait so this is a real....phone? Using old-school twisted pair phone lines? If it has a monthly cost that scales with use it must, but it seems like making this IP would be more practical, if a little less fun?

Most of the same words are used in TV news writing, including many that still reference 'tape' and other things that are no longer part of how TV is made. Also nice to see a site that works without JS :)

I met some lifelong friends through a skiing forum attached to a ski media company that is still going, though probably not quite as strong as it was in its heyday. Reddit's great but it's just not the same as a good vbulletin fo

I was a guest riding in the back seat, definitely not a fighter pilot! And at 9.2 the pilot was fine but everything other than the center of my vision was grayed-out. I also had a 1G pressure suit on, that took the sensation down by about

In my 53 glorious minutes flying in an F16 with the USAF Thunderbirds, the only thing I kept thinking was KEEP MY HANDS UP AND DON'T GRAB THE BIG YELLOW EJECTION HANDLE BETWEEN MY LEGS, even at .99 mach pulling 9.2G.

I spent many years working on high-end TV weather graphics on SGI Indigo, Onyx, and the O2 (toaster over shaped) boxes; they were remarkable for their time and the hours and hours it took to render graphics made for really nice downtime at
