SNI is already plenty viable if you have few/no IE users. That's certainly not everyone, but it's good enough for some of us.

Faster than LuaJIT? At what? Did you run benchmarks to back that up? That's a very strong claim, and I've never heard anyone make it before. LuaJIT is unbelievably fast. I'd be extremely curious to see the proof. (As a side n

Unfortunately, xkcd (along with NYTimes and probably others) link to CSS/JS resources at http:// URLs, which defeats the security of HTTPS. The next version of Firefox will block mixed content in these cases, and being on t

I hadn't heard of ChannelID before now, but that draft is clearly talking about client, not server authentication; it's a way for you to prove to HN that you're really 'codeka', not a way for HN to prove to you that

TACK ( http://tack.io/ ), if widely implemented, would help a lot. As I understand it, if you visited a website regularly before it was compromised, then any future compromise along the lines described in the article (i.e.,

Those petitions aren't terribly high-profile: they're sitting at 6619 and 8249 signatures each, versus nearly 100K for the Snowden petition.

Hmm, on Firefox 23.0a2 I just see a white box with nothing there. Usually this means an addon is interfering somehow. But I turned off AdBlock, Ghostery, HTTPS Everywhere, Flashblock and Greasemonkey, which is basically everything, and relo

Another excellent test case is the track "Second Bad Vilbel" by Autechre. The rockets at the beginning pose an insurmountable challenge for most codecs. Last I checked, MP3 at any bitrate couldn't do it, and Ogg Vorbis fell d
