Taubes has been a big diet proponent for a long time. I’m not sold on his methods (yeah a high fat diet will lose you weight but a high sugar diet <TDEE will too, and 3 kcal raw sugar is unpalatable as is of raw fat)

I didn’t find any of the “these maps looked similar” (lots of maps look similar) or “wow these two time trends are correlated” ( all time series with trends are correlated ) tbh

that same logic works for reversed-compose - a|b|c|d = (a)|(b~c~d). It is inconsistent with the normal kind but I think it’s worth it just for the ability to write list |map| func |filter| predicate |group-by| keyfunc |map| .values() |map|

I do dislike YouTube for this. However, it’s a compromise they made to offer __pretty much all music, copyrighted or not, for free, to everyone, at any time__. That’s valuable! The arrangement is, essentially, yes, they have agreements with

While I find antivax schoolboard patchy-blond-hairdye rage moms to be boring and dull, I’m quite happy for social media platforms to work like that and show you content you want from actual people posting that content. And I don’t think eit

this is totally reasonable and arguably necessary for a platform. High profile users are going to be targeted for reporting much more, and the consequences of a false suspension are more visible for them. Think of it like how you might whit

Article has some aesthetic appeal but I don’t think really pulls together a reasonable argument. “Liberty: antidote to death” is ... not quite right - Christ was certainly that, and the “breaking of chains” of Christ does follow, but seems

I’ve hacked pipes in python many times just because it’s so much better. And no, “a=f(a);\n b=g(a);\n c=h(b);\n a=i(c)” isn’t “more declarative” or “more expressive” than a | f | g | h, and even in python a |pipe| b |pipe(blah)| c |pipe(bla
