I’ve worked for a few remote places, including one which was remote-first before it was cool, and I don’t think the schedule flexibility part rings true Everyone was expected to be available 9-5ish for potential collaboration/question

Especially the typos part. In Ruby and plain JS sometimes you feel you need unit tests even for the dead simple stuff cause there might be a typo in there... and such tests are an awful chore to write and much more efficiently caught by sta

IMO what you’re describing is usually not considered “decentralized”, but rather “open protocols” or “open standards”

One feature I’ve needed to build into all my csv parsers is to be tolerant of some “junk” rows at top, and automatically find the row where the actual headers are, which might not be the first row. Do you handle this case? Eg Mac Numbers ap

Let me tell you, delivery pressure exists even right at the very top. You think there’s no pressure as a CEO/COO beholden to 30% top line growth this quarter? I sometimes think about being in that position and it seems pretty scary too

Core to all of this is that anything provided by an employer could be used against you. Even if I wanted therapy sessions I’m not going to share my work related issues with an employer provided coach, hell no. One thing I’d like to see is i

It’s a tradeoff - you’re starting a business. It’s risky and time consuming enough as it is. You go with what’s quickest and where the users are. Thinking of vendor lock in is low on your list of priorities and rightly so. When you grow big
