Within that analogy the iPhone X could be considered a new model, the 12 it’s facelift and every other post-X iPhone a minor issue release.

Apollo now has a built in safari extension to do exactly that; redirect Reddit url’s to the Apollo app.

Here I am putting that name through a search engine before realising it’s the exact brand of mustard sitting in my cubboard, which I ate for lunch this afternoon. My search is over.

There’s a lot of bikeschedding on how to use it in conjunction with the (also stage 1 proposal and forever delayed) pipeline operator[1] unfortunately. Add in never ending arguments on which symbol we should use (the questionmark has a lot

The most common case I’ve seen is when you want to map using 'point free' style functions, i.e. “x.map(transformItem)”[1]. Another (more) common scenario—but not yet relevant in JavaScript—is piping/composing functions[2]. [1

Currying is nice but in practice it’s rather esoteric in the JavaScript ecosystem. I’ve only seen currying being used (if at all) when transforming data with utility libraries like ramda[1]. What makes it worse it that partial application i

I use 1Blocker which blocks those (checked just now), I don’t see why other apps could not do the same.

Raivo OTP for iOS does something similar where it displays the previous code (greyed out) too after it has expired. Convenient for when the time runs out while you enter the code, as others mentions there is often some leeway on the token e

Surely it can be done with a `while (!userHasConfirmed) {}` loop. Edit: I’m mistaken because now it also blocks the event that would be able to toggle the while condition.

Not if gmail always follows (image) links in emails, regardless of whether the recipient address belongs to anyone. Then it’s all noise.

To add to that, validating response types[1] beyond the I/O boundaries is also rather silly. [1] Second example here: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2021/08/build-resilient-jav...

I’m not exactly sure either but that is around the time I got started with css and I can still recall a lot of these 16px conversion ratios[1], they must have hade some significance. Edit: now that I’m thinking about it, I (used to) use Spo

You were likely looking for 81.25% which—with the universally accepted default browser font-size of 16px—equates to a whole 13px (16 * 0,8125).

We don’t need css float for layout hacks anymore, but it’s intended purpose to wrap text around an element is still a valid use case.

I never argued against any form of restricting bodily autonomy, all I did was state my observations about the following: > I'm not sure how abortion relates to this. Not sure who you’re arguing with here.

Abortion is another example of > My right to make these personal decisions regarding my bodily autonomy and also something that is typically condemned by the anti-vax crowd. The comment implies hypocrisy.

The fee could be (partially) be distributed amongst publisher based on conversion like articles read, and time spent on that. In theory this would still provide an incentive to compete on quality, similar to music streaming services.

Somehow someone thought it’s a good idea to name a spec JSON:API[1] which is a ton of fun in search engines. The spec itself is quite alright though and it makes requests rather predictable. https://jsonapi.org/

Don’t forget proper and full typescript support. Going back to vue (2) after doing tsx was like going back to jquery; loads more context switching and mistakes. The ability to type `children` alone makes a world of difference.
