Good. Although "elevate" from Nirsoft[0] generally worked well for me, it's nice to have something more integrated into the system. [0] http://nircmd.nirsoft.net/elevate.html

Does Microsoft have any idea of the amount of stress they cause? They clearly don't care, at least at management level, but I wonder if they are even aware.

:q! works just as well for aborting a commit, that's actually what I started the subthread with. Don't know about rebase.

Yeah, I should've written "cannot rely on that alone and also check". I've worked with vi, later vim, for 34 years and read about it here first; ddg'ing for it doesn't give many hits.

I'd never heard of the :cq command in vim before. Seems useful, but in practice it's so unknown that things like editing the git commit message cannot rely on it and instead check whether the file has been changed. Also, reading i

To me, your comment only reinforces the point that NYT's content is actually valuable, rather than valuable to rent seekers. But maybe you can give a bit more detail.

I don't know, but I use an admittedly clunky setup using Password Safe and my own NextCloud server just to be sure I have complete control.

Maybe some of it was only in the disk version? I played the Electron version, which was even more limited, as the Electron's video chip couldn't do all the tricks the BBC Micro's could. (I think you even got some of the game

The largest part of the problem is figuring out who the rights holder is.

I guess you're right. The alignment parameter may be different per allocation, not per arena/context.

The context parameter already addresses that need.

True, strictly speaking, and it's also what the law says. But I'd wager that >90% of the time that is not the case, and that often the rights holder is not even aware that they hold those rights.

But for the average person, perception does influence how likely they are themselves to take part in corruption, and that in turn does influence the total amount of corruption in a country. Actual corruption is very hard to measure, so

Yes, but they are still part of the package. If you have only 500MB you easily run out of disk space for both the installer and the actual installation. And I think they remain on your disk, ready to enable. There is no easy way to remove t
