Well, in general, I'd suggest something related to the service rather than the service itself. Computer algorithms generally aren't intuitive in the same way computers are. Paypal -> $pr3f1x29# elh oh el I liek money u gieve

You could implement your own dictionary (in ELvish!) if you wanted. But, I just make them up. You can re-use the prefix as it's only purpose is to screw up "whole word" algorithms.

As I posted on Proggit. NO. NO. NO. Password length is by far the most important factor to brute force attacks. Which, I presume, is most people's concerns because if we're talking about weak hashes or plain-text storage, you're kind of

I'm inclined to agree, but I want to make the caveat here that a lot of phones don't have encrypted bootloaders (e.g. the Droid RAZR) by default. The carriers throw a fit and refuse to buy the phone unless it's encrypted for their needs. So

As somebody who works as an expert (I hate that word by the way, so I apologize) in the legal field, I can say this sentiment is pretty accurate. People think the that evil cabal of lawyers et al conspire against the little man to crush, op

You mean like this? https://market.android.com/details?id=com.lbe.security.lite I agree; I much prefer whitelisting as I go (which is why I still use Firefox + NoScript + RequestPolicy).

I think, in general, I find some of academic's dogma a bit off-putting. I always approach things in the most classical sense--that is, everything is relatively true. Not to dismiss empirical data though. For example, people seem entrenched

I don't know if it's a sign of some neurotic behavior, but I hate it when people use the word bright. And, for whatever reason, they use it a lot. I find it patronizing if not placating--especially when my work isn't appreciated by people t

I'm not a hardcore statistics person, since I only took enough to get me through ECE, but I think this is why I always had a problem with softer sciences (undergraduates, maybe graduate students are better). Things always boiled down to, "l

I use MS as well as nix depending, and I do agree that this scenario has simple, clear cut advantages to use nix. That being said, this article just made me feel dirty. I don't know why people have to overstate a point or politicize every

I'm not a Mac person myself, but I do respect their design philosophy in the sense you don't have to do wild new things -- just standard things really well. So, by proxy I respect their engineers quite a bit. My only beef, really, was with

Insofar as the dump file still gets stored somewhere, I don't see why this is bad either. Most of the time, in modern versions, BSODs are hardware/driver related and require somebody half-competent to diagnose it.
