Is the "USB-PC" port to forward the server's serial console or doesn't it have a port for that? PiKVM seems to support IPMI SoL.

That's the time passing in the vessel, not bad but still it means that such a mission would have to be completely self-sufficient and not rely on anything on/from Earth…

Maybe instead of patching the kernel the "init" process of the VM could set up a seccomp-notify sandbox to handle the socket syscalls in userspace to back them the tcp/udp sockets by a vsock (I think that read/write or s

Has someone tried to write own microcode and load it? Sounds like it should be much faster to run your own code this way than having the official microcode run an interpreter for your x86 instructions.

"Supports UEFI Boot" ← This sounds good already for booting generic Linux distributions, now the question is how well the mainline kernel supports this board. Having to use a special-patched kernel is a no-go if you care about usi

Not all static analyzers use abstract interpretation (they should though to find all issues) because they may implement a rules based approach of checking against "common" bugs, or they may use model checking, or they may use some

Nice to see all the different devices being worked on for (close-to) mainline Linux support. Some even have working mobile data, wifi etc. The only weird choice is not having systemd and also using musl due to being based on Alpine ;)

The difference between SELinux policies and the systemd security settings for locking down a service is about integration and where they are maintained. The SELinux policies are not integrated well with the applications and normally the app

If someone wants to try out IPMI locally with VMs, here is a setup for that: https://github.com/kinvolk/racker/tree/main/racker-sim (you don't need to use Flatcar and Racker)

It's really great to be able to skip compiling LLVM when bootstrapping a whole OS/toolchain from source and only Rust happens to pull LLVM in. Besides the gcc work I'm actually also hoping for the rustc_codegen_cranelift work
