If you ordered 8M LIDARs, the unit price would quickly plummet. Thankfully, this is already happening thanks to Chinese efforts in that space.

Hilarious - German users lecturing Google on how to interpret the English RFC? I say this lovingly, having significant German ancestry:) But taking a step back : did viva previously send message ids and pushed a change to prod to strip it?

They are “frenemies?” I’m sure Apple is working like mad on their own system they control, and Google is trying very hard to lock out the competition like openAI.

All good advice in general. Could add others, like x-y problems etc. This feels like a handbook for a senior engineer becoming a first level manager talking to junior devs. Which is exactly what it should be. However, this will go horribly

I don't think anyone is disputing that this job is terrible, it clearly is. The counter argument is that many other jobs are also terrible, and it's not clear whether you can really stack rank them and this one is at the bottom of

Are we not talking about radiating away the energy used to run the DC ? I assume the solar panels should face the sun, radiate leftover energy away, hopefully as little as possible as solar cells get more efficient. The radiators are for di

Maybe you and I have vastly different experience with police. Disclaimer: From a rather small US state. Your other note is also well taken, it does however not imply that anything a kid or teen does is OK or automatically positive. Finally,

For instance, the local cops checking in on grandma, or those checking in on a troubled child are really not the bad guys. You WANT them when you need them. Not all LEOs are brown shirts, In my experience, few are, but they give the lot a b

Asking for a friend (who sucks at thermodynamics:) could you use a heat pump to cool down the cold end more and heat up the hot end much higher? Heat radiation works better the higher the temperature?

That’s the secret plan - cover LEO with solar cells and radiators, limiting sunlight on the ground, rendering ground base solar ineffective, cool earth and create more demand for heating; then sell expensive space electricity at a huge pre

How trivial is it, really? These are spread spectrum devices that could have very sparse duty cycles. If you sending only millisecond bursts a couple of times an hour, for telemetry and whatnot, it would seem pretty hard to get a good fix,
