Of course you would stagger the offline backups. But if we are talking storing e.g. movies, the worst case scenario is really not so bad (unless you have the last extant copies of some early Dr Who episodes, then BBC would want to have a wo

I have such a NAS for 8 years, (and a smaller netgear one from maybe 16 years ago), and have yet such a disk fail. But you can get unlucky, buying a supposedly new but "refurbished" item via amazon or the seagate store (so I hear)

Has anyone compared Stalwart with say Mox or Maddy, in practice? They all look about the same from a newb's perspective.

Is there a lot of original content on X that isn’t linked anywhere else? If not, this tactic has not worked very well for other news outlets IIRC.

I generally try to avoid slamming down the gavel on someone who's dead and cannot defend themselves unless the evidence is overwhelming. But I see your point of view. I found the article overall not very helpful, especially for an arti

This is tickling my memory of "why aren't there good consumer 3d cameras". I have a Fuji finepix 3d camera that makes awesome 3d pictures and even has a fairly crappy but working 3d display. Awesome even if the resolution is

Seems a strong take just based on the one article you are citing. What you say about grooming may well be true. I was curious and spent a few minutes searching the internets for actual evidence, and I found a LOT of opinion pieces, but not

There's a _huge_ cottage industry of edu apps and programs that are both hugely expensive and not better at teaching, consuming a lot VC and end user $$$. As a first step, this seems not bad at all. I do agree that it would be better t
