I think it's less about promoting their native client as it is about making Github (and Git) less daunting for command-line-evading users. Just so happens their own client is the most user friendly, but it could have been any other, hence n

That's exactly how I see all prospective and current hobbies--if I'm doing it entirely for fun, it doesn't seem like it's worth my time. With so much to pick from, I'm always looking for something that on top of being exciting has lots of s

R doesn't seem to get much frontpage love on HN, or even if it does and I haven't seen, what would people suggest is the technology for statistics going forward? I really hoped it would be around Clojure (e.g. Incanter[1]) and not Python, f

How will you treat using your surveys and the builder as part of another app, as a service? API, restyling, white label and pricepoint.

Love the design and great landing page explaining the concept, so why would you send me straight to ask me to auth with github without my even knowing what I'm getting into?

- When hovering over the left side menu items, I would highlight the text into a much lighter font color--I was already expecting it to happen (and anticipating the eye candy) from all the other apps I've used that do that.

What is the intended audience of your newsletter? I assume the subjects are of broad variance, but is it targeted at people who would read Hacker News, for instance? I really like the power of a single curated deliverance daily, it sets you

I'm often impressed by how some people can command sheer levels of effort without being passionate about what they're doing. Not saying it's particularly the case. When you have that obstination coupled with fiery passion, you get an unstop

My, my, this is a postful! You think scarily close to how I do, and I'm a big fan of Sublime's Cmd-P, so this is full of insights, thanks! Just wondering if you've ever tried Jekyll, as I see it as the natural publishing platform to a dev's

He really did come across as disappointed, and as if he'd still be so even if the project just barely met the funding threshold. But I wouldn't go as far as saying he was not too eager to continue the project. He sounds like this is his pas

I bet this guy would have amassed far more funds if his pledge texts hadn't been so uninvitingly big. Kickstarter should really offer a best practices on this: 1) make it simple and easy to understand each level--make your levels cumulative

On the surface this sounds brilliant, but is it really of worth, statistically, with just a few hundred respondents? Being based around such simple, easy questions, I'd think money could buy you far more eyeballs. Though if the price includ
