I was blocked as a suspected bot by the wordpress site, so I'll post here... I think this discussion requires a bit more nuance. Of course classic row crops like corn, wheat, soy, oats, etc., are unlikely to ever make sense for indoor

I wrote a pre-emptive, multi-threaded OS for the AVR atmega 128 back in college as a sensor networking operating system called Mantis OS (mos). For anyone interested in this direction, it also provides a device layer and “drivers” for time

Investors could start getting angry if they feel that Google is blowing large amounts of cash on endeavors that continue to fail. By doing it this way they get a major stake in the potential success of their spin-offs, but they are able to

Yeah, this "perception-action cycle" has been well known and taught in neuroscience for a long time. What's new, at least since I studied it, is the anti-correlated tick-tock of these two key networks that seems to be happen

Our experience using pyenv, poetry and a Pyproject.toml for projects lately has been great. I highly recommend going this route compared to dealing with pip and pipenv.

What a horrible argument. Other professions have guilds that demand sacrifice rather than focus on skills, and programmers get paid well without that... and? Most business managers are far smarter than this post assumes. People pay more

For that much you would think it would also be a piece of art to improve the space in which it sits. This looks more like an erector set component.

Yeah, pretty much. It might continue to work fine with very minor changes, but as we know how to design and build them today deep neural networks are often very sensitive to minor changes in the input distribution. The key insight here th

Random idea this brings up... Some of the faster than light drive concepts worked by compressing space in front of the ship and expanding it behind. If sound waves carry mass maybe they could be harnessed and focused in a way to warp spac

I think the authors are 100% right on everything, but they failed to bring up one of the most important factors that I believe is driving US policy in this area: if Russian or Chinese weapons are automatically firing at the speed of a neura

The benefits would come from running query kernels in parallel on thousands of GPU cores simultaneously, which necessarily only have access to memory on the card. Of course pre-computation is always preferable, but that's not feasible
