Yeah, well, I actually meant both. One can't claim C++ is an "easy language" no matter what you are doing with it. And let's face it, most languages that are considered "easy to use" are dynamically typed. So y

In fact, there are five (!) different GCs you can try: --gc:refc|v2|markAndSweep|boehm|go|none

Yes, and I never implied its not hard to do. And examples such as this one are quite impressive - which is what got me interested in Rebol in the first place and triggered the development of Ni. However... if I understand your code properly

You are ever so correct, sorry about that! I also would like to say that I am slightly "disappointed" that Red decided to stick so closely to Rebol. Personally I definitely don't find everything in Rebol to be so perfect. ;)

Smalltalk is quite lispish in many ways (closures, most stuff is an expression, simplicity etc). Rebol fascinates me - and I have only scratched its surface. For more on Rebol you should look at www.red-lang.org. Especially the stuff around

Also, I found it interesting that this free form of syntax actually can be made quite readable (in comparison to Lisp, which I love in theory but balk at trying to read). I even think Ni is turning out more readable than Rebol/Red - pr

Yeah, although I had no such association (I am swedish). But... I did notice the Chinese connection, which I liked since we have two daughters from China. ;)

You know, I do think "Ni" as a name sucks but my imagination was low. On the other hand... renaming to "Eki Eki Patang" or something similar is a thought I have already entertained. When reaching a higher level of maturi

Yes, I made my own AST. You know, it started as a parser, evolved into an interpreter :). But I will definitely talk to Andreas (creator of Nim) if using Nim AST would be an advantage.

From what I have heard from Araq (who maintains Urhonimo) Urho3D does use some fancy C++ stuff, so it took a bit of work to improve c2nim to handle it. Also, unless I made that clear, the Lua/AngelScript "bindings" are not fu

No, Urhonimo is not integrating Nim as a "scripting engine" - its a full wrapper of the whole Urho3D C++ library. So its much more complete and allows you to write anything you could write in C++. Modulo bugs we haven't fixed

I am from the Smalltalk community (very, very friendly) and just recently got into Nim but my experiences so far has been positive. Sure, more "heated discussions", but I have so far attributed that to possibly younger participant

Wow, I just have to reply! Which one of these do you prefer: echo("Hello") echo "Hello" "Hello".echo "Hello".echo() Or something different?

Regarding "ignoring the major difference", I explicitly tried to not compare them too much - because I know too little of both. Now I know more about Nim, but not Rust. Regarding GC, its not fully "required" in Nim eithe

What I meant with "issue to fix" - add a section in the documentation that has some kind of words that outsiders connect with "error handling": Error, Exception etc Perhaps I didn't search hard enough - but the next

Regarding the parts where I link to out of date docs: 1. I will fix it later today/tomorrow, busy right now 2. I did actually search quite a bit, but that was what I as an outsider found. Consider this an "issue" to fix :) I
