There is also the "throw money at it" fix for this – an SSD. I've been enjoying one, of the Intel X25-M G2 variety, it solves VM paging/thrashing slowness very nicely and is hella fast to boot.

In Snow Leopard, you can use x64 SIMBL to extend compiled applications, and there is an SIMBL bundle that will get you terminal colors of your choice. http://github.com/brodie/terminalcolours/downloads

Bits of information in information theory dealing with information compression are defined by choices. So it is choices you're looking for, not actions. The guy's article is not technical, though he seems to think it is; it is more of a

He is overshooting it, but so are you. Really, you just need to know when it's time to stop turning the crown, and that's all. You won't stop at the exact position, so there are going to be some adjustments that need to be made, but overal

As should aria2. But that would make it a completely different type of an article, more like a Wikipedia sub-section. We already have Wikipedia.

Application shortcuts remappable from Ctrl+ to Alt+, lake BeOS would be sufficient. Application shortcuts remappable to Super+ would be awesome , then you could do Super+C to copy and Ctrl+C to send kill in the Terminal, Super+H to hide a

I thought it was Adobe's toolchain we were discussing. Using a third-party compiler, debugger and asset management tools helps a ton, but does not validate the technology. Widespread use does. Shame there is no remedy for Adobe's documenta

You should try their IDE on a medium sized project (a Facebook.com/Odnoklassniki.ru game will do). It's no picnic. Flash IDE has the bullet points, but TextMate/Vim/whatever can actually edit code. That is, there exist specialized workflo

Your moral is about forbidding something, not guiding somewhere. Very much like the christian commandments. And you need to be of a certain culture to understand the "error-correcting" part.

The reason kids are made to do this stuff is so that they get real contact with tangible abstractions. Granted, it is not the best way to force this kind of thing down your throat, but from my own school experience they teach a kid "one or

I've grown increasingly annoyed with Thom over the last two years. The man is an ego-maniac. The problem is that there's no standard codec for HTML5. The main contestants are H264 and Theora, and so far, it seems like on the browser side
