I'm still on 17.X, so that probably explains the discrepancy here. I think I tried doing a major version bump a while back and things didn't compile so I put it on the backlog and forgot about it. It may be time to revisit befor

I believe you are correct. I could probably remove the imports altogether, and just prefix those functions with `Phoenix.LiveView`.

As I evolved the pattern over time, I found it really did help clean up a lot of code in `mount`. Once I got it working for one LiveView, it was really easy to rip out a lot of messy code in the other LiveViews. I'm definitely happy

I haven't looked into this much, but saw someone do a talk on it at ElixirConf maybe two years ago. I bet it's much more robust now.

I started using this pattern in my LiveView projects, and finally rolled it into a common module for others to use. I've found it really helps clean up the mount function, which can get pretty messy as your LiveViews grow over time. M

It appears they are making an assumption that the type of person who reads blog posts about the inner workings of an API gateway also knows how to read a well labeled graph.

I was at a dinner party and asked someone what they do. They ran a research lab, and I was really interested, and asked questions. He was surprised I actually liked chemistry and was interested in his research. He said normally people ju

I love Asciidoc, especially with PlantUML. I have used them together on various projects to version, and host internal documentation. The code block snippet generator is super useful as well. Spring Framework documentation is a shining

I’ve seen this before and was shocked as well. Really gave me some perspective on how much trust we put in pilots and airlines to keep us safe while hurtling through the air at hundreds of miles per hour.

This has been out for a couple years. It's kind of fun, but if you want to do more than one player it would get pricey. You need a switch per vehicle, and each vehicle costs $99.

(author). I agree with your sentiment , and try to make this point in the article. This is why I suggest using out of the box admin frameworks and other ways to provide quick admin features. Only spend time adding custom functionality once

I’ve worked with a few good product managers. I always equate PM to project manager which is totally different and typically useless in software development. The most useless BS role is when companies hire for scrum master.

Zapier can afford to do this because their pricing is absurdly high IMO.

They are definitely brighter. I had a 2009 Ford Fusion and could barely see the road. Now I have a Mazda and I legit feel bad at how bright they are for other drivers. A lot of cars also now have auto brights, which of course never turn of

In my experience Reddit mods are in general jaded intolerant assholes. I’m sure this is because the Redditors they deal with are in general jaded intolerant assholes.

This makes sense to me. Views always seemed a like unnecessary boilerplate to me. Better to keep all the code together in one module, and just import common functions. On the other hand, I don't typically like defining the template in

I think the only thing missing from the movie is that they should have established that Andi had a sister, and maybe allude to the fact she has a twin or very similar looking sister. I think the twist was good actually, and you see why Mile

I went to a small Wisconsin state school, grad with a BS in CS in 2009. We learned C, operating systems, and had a compiler class. Definitely not useful in my day job, but it was fundamental in my understanding of programming languages and
