The hiding of the malicious code in arm processors of ssds and in the BIOS seem like this is mainly targeted at people running their own hardware. Does this mean running in a public cloud might actually be more secure? Or do we just have

Wow, I did not see this coming. This sounds like every selfhoster's dream. I know I'll be sending my logs and metrics to NR now.

It's mostly a rant about someone not accepting that extra performance can come at the cost of complexity. While I could argue with all the points that he's making, my main counterpoint is this: junior devs don't care that the

I'm pretty sure it's not about it being hard to implement, but also about reducing friction to sign up/in. I'd personally never use sign in with Facebook, but for nearly all dev related services I prefer sign in with Git

If you are into these kinds of mysteries, I highly recommend reading Pandora's Star by Peter F Hamilton. (even more so if you want to spend a few days reading this epic space opera)

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that at least 50% of the vms running in Azure are actually running linux. And in this case, "action" refers to the ci/cd tooling github provides called "github actions". It'

Looks really nice so far. I've been working on exactly the same thing actually, but it isn't nearly as polished as notebrook (yet?). The only problem right now is that I cannot find a save button anywhere and it also is not autosa

That it actually takes 20 seconds implies to me that actual people are viewing the content. I don't see any automated system taking that long as I do believe they would just throw more resources at the problem.

Or the other way around: send clean content first, then use a collision for the nasty content.

Anyone that wants to stay up to date with the virus should follow this channel [0] It's from the semi retired Dr. John Campbell, his videos are low tech but high content. I've come to realize it is all our responsibility to make s

A language that young professionals can use right away and can even support complex projects like kubernetes, Prometheus, consul etc. sounds like an excellent choice for companies to adopt. It might not be as elitist as rust or clojure but

I actually have a similar setup, but I dynamically add a route to traefic with the API through the same ssh tunnel. I also set it up with a wildcard certificate so the https is instantly available.

Supporting 3 platforms (Linux, Mac and Windows) basically means triple the development effort. Off course slack would love to have native apps for all platforms, but apparently it's just not cost effective. 90% of the users probably do

Reminds me of Record of a spaceborn few, a book by Becky Chambers. It goes into detail how on a generation ship the bodies are composted and become nutrients to grew new food upon.
