This is the point I was going to make as well. I think the article is written for high-agency people, which are rare in my experience, even in tech. Also related: The Peter Principle: people get promoted to their level of incompetence. We t

Recommended reading for a bit of insight into the mechanics of the remote operations. E.g: "Fleet response and the Waymo Driver primarily communicate through questions and answers. For example, suppose a Waymo AV approaches a construct

I read this and was puzzled, until I realized that you are talking about the pills. The nasal spray is effective, although probably not more effective than a saline solution.

Do some research on the American south. It's hot and humid half a year+. The only reason it's so populated is AC. I'd bet there are more houses with central AC in France than there are without AC in the southern US states.

I've had Macs before, from work, but there is something about the M1 Pro that feels like a major step up. Only recently I noticed some slowness. I think Google Photos changed something and they show photos in HDR and it causes unsmooth

People think 33% of US are immigrants? To me even the 15% seems high. I would have guessed less.

This is fantastic! Somehow I hadn't heard about vertically mounted solar panels until now but it sounds great. There are so many advantages to vertical mounts I would expect them to become the norm.

Why do all those graphs peak at the same ages so clearly? I am probably missing something, but if this phenomenon is so clearcut in the graphs, how come it took so long to be discovered?

Whenever I drive on highways in heavy rain I wonder how a self-driving car would behave. Virtually all human drivers drive unsafely in these conditions by following too closely. Would a Waymo keep the distance? Seems difficult to do in heav
