This was an interesting read. Lots of details about who made the decisions to green-light various Netflix shows. Also it seems the fact that most new original shows being mediocre has a clear cause inside Netflix.

As others have said, this is just loss form investments, due to the general market correction. If you want to see it in the press release, look for "Other income" in the press release (the most interesting part is on page 9).

I used to feel the same way. I also kept the cable subscription way too long and not really watching anything, but was reluctant to pay for online streaming services. Then one day we just decided to cut cable and get Netflix to try it out.

I remember staying at a (modest) hotel in Netherlands 20+ years ago and seeing this for the first time and thinking what a brilliantly pragmatic idea. It's amazing and sad that it didn't catch on everywhere.

Here in New Jersey my local Whole Foods doesn't sell half-loaves anymore. I like some of their breads but I'm not willing to spend $6 for a loaf that I won't be able to finish.

If you ask me, yes and yes. But I don't think they will get very high. I've seen claims of low demand for US bonds before and it turned out the exact opposite.

This (the various types of crude) is not the real reason, based on what I read before. The US is a major (biggest?) exporter of refined oil products. I think even western Europe gets a significant portion of refined product from the US. The

It's because storing potatoes properly is actually tricky in a house or apartment. At some point I was frustrated that my potatoes were turning green and I did some research. I remembered my grandparents storing potatoes for an entire

The author makes a few good points, but I'm not convinced by the overall thesis, which seems to be supported by a few anecdotes (meme stocks) and speculation. Notably, he went all out with Apple and he was wrong. Apple both reported gr

Great point. And just to reinforce it, I find the 16-episode pre-produced korean drama format very compelling. It's some of the best TV content I've watched lately.
