I remember thinking about this when AlphaFold was announced. Did it happen back then? Were there large shifts in companies/universities that were doing folding research?

The key word -- which is missing from the PR title, but is in the paper title -- is "calibration". The novelty is there. Apparently this is a big problem due to varying humidity levels.

That's impressive. Are these CDI jobs? Also, do you speak French or are these English-speaking start-ups?

Can somebody explain what's happening? If I just scroll a bit, then try to go back I get another graph. Then if I try again to go back it works. It's probably accidental, but I'm curious what is causing this behavior.

Wow, you're right! I didn't read the answer carefully, only noticed that the sentence before was stating the correct requirement. But that last sentence is wrong (actually as a whole it's nonsense).

I don't mind the outages so much, but why is the site so slow most of the time? Even the old.reddit.com site is slow. Is there no incentive to optimize the serving infrastructure?

I gave it a different kind of puzzle, again with a twist (no solution), and it spit out nonsense. "I have two jars, one that can hold 5 liters, and one that can hold 10 liters. How can I measure 3 liters?" It gave 5 steps, some of

Good observation. It seems that it comes up with the right solution: "Suppose I have an object of type C, an object of type G and an object of type L, and I need to get them across a river. I have a boat that can only carry myself and

This is an interesting management-training problem. When you're left with a single veteran developer in a team, what to do? The instinct would be to give them extra support/leeway etc. But I wonder if the better solution is to sim

Agree, but with the caveat that the prices might not come down at all. But still I think that's ok. What will come down are the interest rates, and right now you can make 5+% risk-free on savings, so it makes sense to keep renting and

Use an air purifier. I have a small one from a Korean company. I run it non-stop. It's very quiet normally, but when it detects higher concentration of stuff (almost always when I open a window) it spins up for a few minutes.

As yencabulator said, you can do point queries quite easily when indexing using s2 cells. But you can also do range queries efficiently, you just have to be a bit more careful with creating the query cells.

At a certain level of earnings you just make your own protections. Google employees in US (in tech) literally make 10x compared to EU so all you have to do is be a responsible adult to have all the protection you need.
