I wasn't arguing it was an OO language, merely that it was OO code. OO used to be done in C in exactly the same basic way, passing the struct that is the object as the first arg to all the member functions; Python does this explicitly

Well, now we have to get semantic; if by encapsulation you mean you keeping your data private and only exposing behavior publicly, then you're wrong. If by encapsulation you mean all behavior that uses an objects data is in the object

Inheritance is not essential to OO; it is merely a method of sharing code.

I'd argue that, it's not remotely the most important part nor is sub-typing. Encapsulation encourages better OO, but you can take a well encapsulated OO program, and remove all encapsulation by making all the data public, and that

Using a folder as a queue is pretty common in the Linux world, moving files between them as well to make a pipeline.

That's just OO without encapsulation.

Um, yea, and usage deviates precisely because people adopt different meanings to words over time until a new meaning becomes the norm; thus definitions are descriptive, not prescriptive, so don't tell me how to use words. And yes, I&#

Normally when discussing mass, people are referring to resting mass, not relativistic mass.

Popular is literally a synonym for mainstream, they aren't being conflated. He went mainstream before Raw with Beverly Hills Cop, by the time Raw came out he was already a star. Doolittle was long after his prime, and long long after

Well look at it; it says Java derives solely from C++, that's not remotely true. It's simplistic and misleading, here's some better ones... https://i.pinimg.com/564x/b9/45/71/b9457106d7a5d6

The projects I'm talking about are closed source business apps. My app is listed on the Seaside.st success stories page, but I'd rather not talk about it here.

No I'm not misunderstanding Smalltalk, that Smalltalk now has a git plugin to be able to expose itself in that manner is exactly the kind of jumping through hoops I was referring to, it's taken many years for that to become stable

I'm a Smalltalk'er, and that's completely disingenuous and frankly intellectually dishonest. What Smalltalk does is not remotely what you do in other languages and when we say file based we're referring to that differenc

I just provided direct quotes from one of the creators of Java, sorry but you're simply wrong to argue you know better what inspired them than they did. Java is a decedent of Smalltalk via Objective C, that is simply a fact. It'

Well, I'll be that guy, I don't care what inspired Bjarne, Simula created the idea of an object, but it wasn't until Smalltalk that object orientation became a paradigm: Smalltalk created OO, not Simula. Object != Object Ori

Smalltalk is not "yet another programming language"; Smalltalk is the language all those other OO programming languages copied. You should look into it because it is the source of the object oriented paradigm and it'll make

That's not remotely whataboutism; whataboutism is when you're deflecting to another bad to justify something, I'm not deflecting nor justifying, I'm using reductio ad absurdum to make a point that everything is bad with
