I haven't tried it, but you should be able to have multiple processes listen on the same UDP port bound to localhost using SO_REUSEPORT. Send broadcast UDP packets (using SO_BROADCAST) so they all get it. From here: http://w

Oh, FFS, I write a free terminal emulator with a fraction of the users of PuTTY, I pay $100/year to sign it, and O($100)/year in hosting + CA fees. Donations cover it easily.

I decided not to allow URLs for image inlining in iTerm2 because of possible security issues. Have you thought about that? I didn't have a clearcut risk in mind, but giving someone else (e.g., root on an outside machine you're ssh

I'm not sure the number of bugs actually encountered by users would decrease if everyone started using size_t tomorrow. What value is more likely to be found: INT_MAX+1 or -1? Even something simple like iterating backwards over a strin

Is there any alternative that supports issue attachments? That's the one feature that I really need to live for iTerm2 but github and gitlab don't support it except for images.

This is almost very useful, but it's missing two features: 1. I want to index my passive income to inflation, meaning drawing down from principal if necessary; so you'll need to know my assumption rate for inflation and life expec

Why not use a saved window arrangement? It'll restore your splits, and working directories too if you use the nightly build.

Yeah, hierarchical tree-views suck. In the nightly builds (soon to be betas for v3) tags can define a hierarchy by including slashes in their names. They're also browsable in the toolbelt, which is just like 0.10's side-window. It

Remote pasteboard twiddling is guarded by an off-by-default preference (prefs>general>allow clipboard access to terminal apps). Triggers are user-defined; while most people use them to change text colors, you are given enough rope to

I did a lot of work on performance which you can see in the nightly builds; it was too risky for the 2.0 schedule. We now parse the input stream in a separate thread from where it is rendered. That being said, while the refresh rate is prob

Using gnuplot is a nice idea, but the protocol doesn't play nice with other terminals that don't support inline images. See what iTerm2 is doing along these lines. http://www.iterm2.com/images.html

Terminal does the same (for me). It's because opt-clicking above the line sends some up arrow keystrokes, which the shell interprets as moving back in history. In iTerm2 nightly builds (which are less stable than the betas) you can dis

The parser's behavior is not specified except in the implementation, which is messy C. I was once loosely involved in a project that tried to reimplement it, which turns out to be extremely difficult, and was laughed at by Brent Welch. Inde

Two things: 1. Broaden your knowledge as much as possible. Don't just find one thing that's comfortable and stick to it. The only way I ever found to do this is to implement real programs that solve problems that you have. 2. Once you're go

This is really valuable feedback. Consider this the minimum viable integration. I'm going to iterate on the UI and bug fixes for the next few releases. After it's really stable I'll add support for multiple connections.
