Systems that do this use the latest value for leap seconds. The conversion becomes ambiguous, but not undefined. For any system sensitive to the ambiguity, you simply would keep the time in TIA rather than convert it.

"Add an entire day to the calendar, no one bats an eye. And one second and everyone loses their minds". I think the main issue with dealing with leap seconds is really a lack of awareness. Our calendars are already full of idios

Astronomers use "Julian Days" and "Julian Dates", but they are not at all based on the Julian calendar. They are just a linear count of days which is easier to plug in to algorithms. It is quite similar to the Unix Tim

Patreon is probably better, IMHO. From what I understand, Youtube Red pays out your subscription money proportionally based on how long you watch their videos. To me, that just seems to encourage them to waste your time, rather than focus

It'd be more useful if they explained why some of the data is so inaccurate, so you could decide what to trust and what not to. In my neighborhood I found some houses not casting shadows, or partial shadows, lot of missing trees, and

When I hear of the preference of form over function for data, I think about the sinking of the SS El Faro. The captain relied on weather data from a Comercial service because they were pretty. On the "black box" one member of th

I use -pattern_type glob on Windows without issue. Not sure how long I've been using it, at least a year, possibly two. This is what I use: ffmpeg -framerate 30 -pattern_type glob -i '*.jpg' -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv4

While the Arduino can replace a Pi in many projects I've seen, if you're reason for dropping th Pi is to avoid the issues corporations bring to the table, you're not going to be any happier with the Arduino.

I just can’t come up with any compelling use for a raspberry pi. The practical purposes for an RPi have diminished. They're still good for when you need something small, light or low power. But the market for refurb mini-PC

The UI of the kiosks are quite blatently designed to try to sell you more stuff than to make ordering easier. Give me the same interface you give the employees and I'd be a lot happier.
