I skipped a grade and my mom told me that the school district really didn't like doing it, for many of the reasons you mention. She said they did it with me because I was also large (I think I was even one of the biggest kids one grade

You are the one distorting the meaning. The joke clearly implies an existing culture of cannibals, a society entirely hostile and dangerous to outsiders and yet somehow brought to heel by Sam's super amazing charisma or work ethic or w

The Norway thing amused me because I imagine many (most) of the people who were outraged by that would be perfectly happy with censorship of things they do consider offensive. As Facebook stated, there is no way to please everyone on this.

In a way it's better. If they see you might be looking they might give you a raise whereas if you said to him. "hey, I'm looking" it might just get his back up and he might start looking for a replacement

Many other commenters imply that since people would flee the platform if they couldn't discriminate, that AirBnB shouldn't have to deal with the problem. It's the opposite. AirBnB is required to deal with the problem. Their c

What those who contradict you above fail to appreciate is just how little IQ difference makes someone seem "dumb". Most people with 140 IQs rarely spend any time having discussion of any depth with anyone who has an IQ below 120.

The Theranos story reminds me of an episode of "The Big Bang Theory". Sheldon gets sent to jail. Why? Why do you think, for doing the same crap he always does but this time to a judge. Theranos followed a standard SV script, sell

Those moves were't illegal (except eye gouge I think) in the early days of UFC and I don't think they decided any fights. Still, I agree with your point that UFC shows us the best mix of skills for that particular set of constrain

If you ignore advice and fail (always the more likely outcome no matter what you do) then you failed because you refused to take advice. If you take the advice and fail, you can't be blamed. This is oddly powerful pyschology

You have to get to the middle of the article before you learn there is a generic available. So now that people are aware of the problem, it seems easy to fix.

The article praises Gawker for often "punching up". For the youngens this "don't punch down" rule that someone recently invented is a load of hooey. People who control the mainstream media define up and down and tel

Probably? As in you know that more than half the people whom would be reasonably considered successful worked 130 weeks for a non trivial portion of their careers? I'm calling bullshit. I'd need to see a study. My belief is that w
