I agree with most of this, but once you’ve learned SQL, how do you integrate it with your code? I find value in libraries that occupy a middle ground between nothing but raw SQL and a full-blown ORM. In TypeScript (and with apologies for ha

In general: be prepared to pay significantly more for natural fibres and fillings. If you're in the UK, it's harder than that. You either find one of a handful of small companies that are prepared to interpret the law more lenient

I made this iOS shortcut which lets you call up the price comparison straight from the share sheet in the Amazon app: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/bad9a103673a47d78c9aea57897... Edit: to see it, you’ll likely first

If they added the feature themselves, likely many more people would find it and use it, and the average price paid would drop. The way it currently works represents a kind of price discrimination, just like providing coupons that people hav

The truth is surely somewhere in between. Of course it's not healthy to log off your coding job and just keep coding for yourself, day in, day out. A full life involves so much more. But on the other hand, I do kind of agree with the p

Good question. I bought new for the first time recently and found it hard to believe how many people appear to be willing to pay £500+ just for a colour (and one they’ll barely see when using the car). Sure, I have preferences, but not ones

I'm interested to see if I can use these new template string type features to add more/better type checking and inference to my TS Postgres library[1]. My suspicion is that the TS recursion depth limit of 50 might limit this rathe

Helpful footnote: The 737 Max will be known as the 737-7, 737-8 and 737-9. In Ryanair's case it will be known as the 737-8200 ... International Air Transport Association aeroplane type codes will be B37M, B38M and B39M should you want

Nice thought, thanks, but I don't think so. The way things are set up, your `tableTypes[T]` would need to map table names to namespaces, and this gives errors like "Cannot use namespace 'X' as a type". Would be plea

This is a good point, and I've noticed this phenomenon on some video sites lately. Although the caveats for this particular library[1] imply enough false positives and false negatives that it seems mostly useless. Sites that take thi

How are you doing it? Automating an actual browser using the developer tools is probably the most under-the-radar way, and also quite nice to work with. See: https://github.com/jawj/web-scraping-for-researchers

On the one hand, yes, the code examples in that PR thread are kind of terrifying. On the other, the ability to map mechanically between type names would be really useful, and is something I’ve previously wished for. It would, for example, e
