Chip8 was really good too, and it gets your feet wet with some VM programming

The output of LLMs will be suboptimal for some time. Companies stand to earn more by hiring juniors who can reason without LLMs than juniors who copy paste from LLMs

Couldn't you just... train off chatgpt's output?

What's most offensive is having to pay for audiobooks on top a monthly subscription

I wouldn't recommend it if anything were to go wrong. It's a quick way to end up in bankruptcy if anyone gets hurt, or if your neighbors property gets damaged

I've only ever felt that on reddit. It's a schadenfreude paradise. Next to that it's LinkedIn. HN is the last true sane social media for me where people seem normal (albeit _highly_ analytical, almost to a fault at times)

void* malloc(size_t size); void free(void *ptr); You use it a lot more than you think ;)

Any pointer converts to void* without warning. That's pretty weak.

C really just needs if / else / while / and void functions. Function inputs should be in/out (const type* or type*).

Having spent nearly 12 hours a day for a year with GPTs I agree that this is the way. Treat it like a professor on office hours who’s sometimes a little apathetically wrong because they’re overworked and underfunded

That naming convention makes perfect sense to the mathematician, so why not? It's why we use `for(int i = i; i < n; i++)` in for loops; its the mathematical sigma sum of values with the same naming convention

Has anyone built a virtual machine out of Babbage's instruction set and then tried Ada's program?

I gauge what work's best if I can already do what I am asking it to do, and that comes from years of studying and trial and error experience without LLMs. I have no way of verifying what's a hallucination unless I am an expert

Arch has consistently proven itself to be the perfect machine for me. I go for months without a reboot even with daily package updates. 2000 line C window managers like DWM leave me more productive than windows ever has
