I am a huge fan of adblocking, and didn't see whatever ad you mentioned :P I sometimes whitelist sites that I care about who also advertise responsibly. It's a very short whitelist.

Remember in the 1980's when you might dial in to a BBS that was run by some tempermental teenager who randomly decreed whatever arbitrary and inconsistent rules suited him on that particular day? Well that kid earned a few billion buck

My buddy is an aircraft mechanic, and his stories could definitely make a person worry about flying! Kind of like how talking to somebody who works in any restaurant kitchen will scare you from eating out anywhere.

Fuck cancer. I picked it up a couple months ago at the ripe age of 50, and spend my days getting nuked with chemo and rads now.

Early in my career, I learned that it's possible to accidentally credit thousands of dollars to people's credit cards instead of charging them. On the bright side, I learned a valuable lesson and did not get fired.

Well either the US is especially vulnerable to foreign sabotage or the US is especially vulnerable to self-sabotage . I'll let others debate over which is worse.

Waking up early to work alongside offshore teams helped ruin my ability to sleep in. So it would only be a small stretch for me to start work at 6am, especially for WFH days. And for in-office days a <6am commute would probably be lo
