I'm pretty sure I can if what you said here is all there is to it. Not the bit about creating stuff, but the process is more usable with fewer steps anyway. The "hey anyone want to get coffee" and "sure let's get coffee at 5th & main" i

Don Norman's DOET should be required reading for anyone making a human-facing system. It is not a complete education on the topic, but it's a huge step forwards.

If you just want "the internet" and a few basics like a word processor then it doesn't matter much. Windows has Microsoft Office, which is going to trump any non-specialized options you can get on Linux. It also has a large library of comme

Lots of typos on the front page. Also, bad math. 28638 received over 23634 sent is a 200.03% return rate? No. "Sent" and "received" are already very ambiguous - is "sent" what I sent you or what you sent me? But either way, it doesn't work

Better than not. It seeds the info to a lot of competent people. But IMO, it would work better if people would stop making such ambiguous postings. I'm not going to tell my friend about this awesome opening I saw on HN if you don't actually

Slate tablets are getting small enough that they're eroding the laptop range for me. That and a small Bluetooth keyboard will cover most anything between needing it to fit in my pocket and needing a desktop for prolonged intensive use.

Style is actually a primary consideration in the design of the Thinkpad line. It's not enough to be reliable, it also has to look reliable. People complaining about the design are often failing to correctly identify the intended user.

There are a few functions which whitelist locally like adding someone to your contacts. But I think "Not Spam" moves it to the inbox and provides feedback into the voting algorithm without whitelisting at any scope.

Many / most browsers will let you open a link by highlighting it. I can't think of any circumstances where "X dot Y" is appropriate. People do it sometimes for email obfuscation, as if spammers can't figure out how to do search and replace.
