That is more than just your intuition--with minor tweaking, it is a theorem that was taught in my Programming Language Theory course when I was in college! The tweak is that any safe type system will preclude programs that are otherwise s

I am working on a card game based on braid theory (in the braid group B_4). I am also working on a private journaling app, with a mild mental-health focus, aimed at teenagers; the idea is that if your parents want to have access to your pho

I would very much like that for Android. It seems much better than the tablet drawing app my kids currently use.

Are you familiar with termbases? There is in fact a whole industry with standardized data formats dedicated to solving exactly that problem.

Except... it's not. It's still bundled, just differently. A la carte would be what Amazon Prime Video does with all of the stuff that isn't free--you just pay for the thing you actually watch.

Why would you expect to know of any candidates? It's not like we've done a ton of research into complex polymer chemistry in liquid iron solvents.

Sorry, that's where my expertise runs out. I could tell you all about analyzing the linguistic structure of the text, but my experience with audio processing is limited to reading spectrograms and trusting other people's ASR tools

I actually have very little direct experience with automated forced alignment; I have enough experience in the space to know that naive approaches suck, but back when my boss was paying people to do manual alignment most of the effort went

If it's rendering locally, at least the browser is sandboxed. And if it's rendering server-side, then at worst someone else's machine gets compromised instead of yours.

Ah! It's not even trying to do word or syllable-level alignment. Well, that makes the problem considerably more error-tolerant. And they specifically call out ASR-based aligners as more accurate, so that makes me feel good about myse

Alternately, since you say speech recognition isn't "even close", I might try going the other way--doing text-to-speech on the audio stream, attempting to align the two speech tracks, and the back-porting the timecodes from a

The way I'd do it is to use an existing speech recognition system with a large number of language models available (like CMU Sphinx--but probably not CMU Sphinx, 'cause I don't think there are decent openly-available models f

Examining the source, it looks like alignment is done via an HTML form data submission to ' https://api.audioai.online/split-align' . Manually visiting that website, however, is not very informative... the entire te

As far as I'm concerned, JavaScript (or at least JScript, MicroSoft's proprietary reimagining) replaced VBA 13 years ago. I haven't had to do anything programming with Excel for rather a long while, but way back in 2007 I was

You really need language support to make recursion the best practical solution for most problems. However, even when working in "normal" languages like C#, I find that recursion has utility in designing solutions--it is often easi

That's hardly the most straightforward or intuitive decomposition. In particular, it makes simple monoplanar rotations overly complicated, in exchange for making isoclinic rotations super simple--while rotors handle monoplanar rotation

That would make sense, but according to the spec sheets the pins are not repeated--only two of them are functional, the rest are dead.

Online speech recognition for English . The framework should be generalizable, but the models they are making available are only for English. Actually adapting this for any other language would be a huge amount of additional work.
