This is one of the best technical books I've ever read. It is extremely to read. It focus on building intuition, and then introduces the mathematics that formally describes what you've just learned. Maybe it's just my learn

In my mind one of the primary benefits of R over Matlab are the 'data frame' data structure and the ecosystem that's built up around that, for slicing/dicing/plotting/modeling/etc. Also, having factors as

This looks similar to Dataiku's Data Science Studio. But it's much less expensive...I love Dataiku but there's no way I can afford their products. I wonder what the feature parity is like.

This is true, but in my experience sampling can take longer with higher-dimensional models, even with the same number of samples. So from an efficiency point of view, VI is still great compared to sampling.

Most of what we call 'AI' today is just fancy regression methods. No need to be so grandiose.

The problem is "Write a C program of 512 characters or less that returns as large a number as possible." This fantastic reddit comment[0] led me down a rabbit hole that I still haven't dug my way out of. [0] - https:/&

This looks awesome & fills a gap in the market. As a doctoral student I've wanted one of these for years for reading papers. I only wish it were roughly half as expensive. At $700 it's tempting to just buy an iPad Pro or some

I was able to get a copy of my data from a MEG study, supposedly because it was part of my electronic medical record so I was entitled to it. Not sure whether that was sound reasoning, but it got the result I wanted.

I've always found that I love the individual songs on Amnesiac as songs , but as an album , it's not as cohesive or gorgeous as Kid A. I can't back that up with anything but subjective perspective, but it's my feeling.
