I think the meaning was that most Americans resent that they are basically forced into a contract in order to get the plan and device they want. I would rather bring my own device, but the only carrier available to me (until recently) was V

Actually an Android handset with some really solid, secure apps and no consumer cruft (copy of some movie you can't delete, Blockbuster app, etc.) would have been pretty killer back when I had a Blackberry through work.

Your book is definitely an excellent contribution (I bought it as soon as I found out about it). When I first came to the language I was a little surprised that O'Reilly didn't have a book out, but I guess it was too unstable even

I've messed around with Rust a little and I love what I see! The documentation is still poor (understandable given how quickly the target is moving) but that seems to be changing. This is a really exciting, multi-paradigm language and

Whoever said anything about there being a "well run market"? I think it's pretty clear that, at least in the US, the incentives CEOs and boards face are almost laughably perverse.

It isn't that simple. One of the key reasons for the tenure system is to insulate "thinkers" from political or social pressure. Tenure allows researchers to be more objective because they don't have to worry (as much) ab

I think one of the core problems is that people, for whatever reason, enter PhD programs for the wrong reasons. Something I have been told several times is that you should only do a PhD if the opportunity to work on the research it involves
