If by terminal programs you mean command-line interface (CLI) programs, then you'll never regret learning how core Unix commands work, in themselves and in pipelines, and their POSIX-defined interfaces. I use these often: make grep fi

If you don't have a reason to use Emacs from the terminal emulator, use the GUI. And for SSH, it's very hard to reject Tramp. One must is to make it less verbose though: (setq tramp-verbose 1). Then it becomes faster (at least

Very often institutions decide stupidly, when the decision is made by people that are not domain experts. Also, numbers may lie. If they did not study the same content with interactive and plain presentation, for example. I recall an art

We disagree at the definition of what slavery is. My definition of it is complete subordination to some masters, with no rights and in an inhumane situation (e.g. Afro-American slavery). Your definition seems to be that it is any sort of

Certainly. I just wanted to clarify what "slave-warrior" meant in this context, because in itself the word makes me think of actual slaves living in misery and getting thrown onto enemies to keep them busy getting killed. Origin

Slave-warriors in the name only though. They were literally one of the most powerful classes in the entirety of the empire for many centuries, after the dynasty and the dirigents themselves.

That rule is plain wrong. Not everything compose well enough to make pipelines or configure with some booleans and numbers and strings. Sometimes you need custom behaviour. In fact, most of the time you want custom behaviour, or just min

I find that tge only way to use web securely is to disable JS alltogether except for a few hand-picked web pages. I use qurebrowser for that, and chromium for some nasty web apps I have to use.

Unless you streamline the development and deployment environments, that is. You can just work in a VM, a chroot/jail, or probably use Docker (I haven't ever used it tho, thus not sure).
