Putting on my tin foil hat ... one could imagine a box the size of a phonebook (or just a laptop) that could, when it encounters packets or encrypted data, send signatures and packets to the NSA data centers, and do the kind of matching

I work near a team of people I'd consider "good JS developers". If I were to just go over to their workspace and say, "We should totally use Clojurescript", they'd look at me with a mixture of "LOL, Emacs&

One takeaway from this article, for me, was that Avis' customer service, and the agents at these rental places specifically, were __awesome__. This is the kind of experience that would lead a customer like me to choose Avis over their

If I were on a team of developers, and every new team member got a loaded Macbook Pro, and I were stuck with Ye Olde HP from 2007, I would feel pretty slighted. It's patently unfair that other devs would be seen as valuable enough to h

I found that doing easy and medium Sudoku in pen is remarkably enjoyable, far more so than it ever was when I would make temporary marks. It's harder, and I'm not very good at Sudoku in general, but it really reinforces the "

I bet you could do something neat with small tethered submersibles that you remotely control. Of course, they might not be small enough, but at least it would be safer.

As a Git user, it seems Very Hard to accidentally force push: you need to add a command line parameter, and I was simply taught "Don't Do That". I've certainly never done it. e.g.: # yes! git push origin my-featur

I believe it would be in Matlab, as [1, 2] + [3, 4] would be considered matrix addition, in which one adds elements in corresponding places. Numpy (as mentioned in the GP) probably does similar.
