Great work on PostGraphQL. Easy to setup, and well documented. I'm going to start doing some load testing, I'll let you know what I find.

Code review is typically how I structure my interviews. I try not to ask arbitrary comp-sci questions, but instead provide the candidate with a block of code and ask them to provide a comprehensive code review (usually through a github pr).

While I understand where you are coming from, I don't see how your comment adds anything to the conversation. If you don't have senior staff then you are going to have a host of other problems as well.

I love working in environments like this. I can say hands down they were my most productive years as a programmer. Quality code review is the single most important trait of a high performing senior programmer.

As a kickstarter backer of oculus, and someone who was recruited heavily by Oculus to build the Oculus store, fuck that company. They have repeatedly shown disdain for their original backers who try to hold them accountable to their constan

There is no technical solution to a lack of empathy. At a certain point a culture just has to look in the mirror and come to grips with its own failures.

That is exactly what happened. The company is now imploding because the entirety of senior engineering staff has resigned over the last two weeks. One of our founders left herself logged in on a QA device, needless to say the entire team go

I recently had a manager say the same thing to me about Slack. The founders were apparently trolling the tech channels and my name didn't come up enough. Mostly because I was busy working and not incessantly spamming giphy nonsense. Ne

I write A LOT of javascript. I would not discourage you from learning it at all, in fact I highly encourage it if you are starting out. HOWEVER... You really need to understand the limitations of the language. It is poorly designed. It is i
