I believe that as small exchanges are attempting to gain market share, giving away their data makes sense. They need to advertise the liquidity on their market in order to attract business. As exchanges get bigger, they reach a point where

This is my new least favorite sport: speaking about concept vehicles in the present tense. "has sophisticated features ... has space for a sink ... includes an LCD projector" Oh wait. "The California XXL is still in the conc

This probably makes more sense than it does for consumer-owned vehicles. My guess is that at roll out, the battery may be swappable, but the feature won't be publicized or used for a while.

The only time I miss exceptions is when I really need non-local return. Stack traces are available, see [1]. Needing non-local return really turns out to be the exception though (sorry). I find I want it when writing recursive descent pa

What is the lifetime of the fund? Just the amount of time that the VC firm has said they would have all the money (and more!) back to the limiteds? Clearly that's not a hard deadline, right?

It is an interesting question. In addition to any common law covering contracts, there are also some statutes that specifically cover interactions on a computer, like the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. These laws often refer to "inten

Yeah, I was wondering about the organic labelling. Also about the claim that there are "no pesticides or chemicals of any kind used in the cultivation of Plenty’s crops". Presumably they have to add nutrients to the water?

Can someone explain variants vs sums vs tuples vs records? This sentence from the README confuses me: "We can combine types with variants or sums (the "nameless" form of variants, as tuples are to records)."

Wow this is a HACK. In the old-school getting-things-done-I-dont-care-if-its-ugly-but-it-has-a-certain-elegance-to-it sort of way. Well done.

My understanding was that the Gigafactory was conceived out of necessity as least as much as opportunism. That is necessity for a large stable source for batteries over which Tesla has quality control. Had they been able to find that else

Ah, the DACs! Yeah, I probably didn't start listening carefully to CDs until the early 90s, so maybe I missed a lot of the bad ones. When you say non-harmonic distortion, are you talking about clipping? Isn't that directly relat

It always makes me cringe when people say that records "sound better". Here's my unsolicited theory on why vinyl was preferred (by some) to CDs in the 90s and 00s. It wasn't the form factor, it was the dynamic range of

Yes, for example I think this makes sense for apartment buildings and other communal living situations. I think it would make sense to do solar and/or CHP depending on regional weather.

I love the idea. I think microgrids make sense for a lot of applications. However, I don't see how the blockchain really fits in to it. At the end of the day, someone has to maintain the shared infrastructure: the wires that connect
